Kori L. McOmber received her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Miami University in 1998, and received her juris doctorate in 2001 from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. While in law school, Ms. McOmber represented the university at the American Bar Association’s Moot Court Competition in Boston, Massachusetts. She currently specializes in the defense of physicians, hospitals and other healthcare providers in medical negligence claims. She also focuses her practice in the defense of insurance companies in insurance coverage matters and the defense of corporations in product liability matters. She represents clients in both federal and state court, and is licensed to practice in Indiana and before the Federal District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. She is a member of the Indiana State and Indianapolis Bar Associations and serves as the Immediate Past Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Indianapolis Bar Association. She is also an active member of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana (DTCI) and currently serves as the Chair of the Insurance Coverage section of that organization. In 2009, DTCI named Ms. McOmber the Young Lawyer of the Year for her leadership qualities in service to the Indiana defense bar, the national defense bar, and the community. In 2008, Ms. McOmber was named Young Lawyer of the Year by the Indianapolis Bar Association. In 2009, she was named a “Rising Star” by the Indiana Super Lawyers publication. She is also a member of the Defense Research Institute and is a graduate of the Indiana Trial Academy Skills College. Ms. McOmber is the Immediate Past President of the Miami University Alumni Association – Indianapolis Chapter.
