John Mervilde represents companies, individuals, and insurers throughout Indiana in the fields of personal injury, appellate practice, products liability, environmental insurance coverage, construction defects and injuries, employment law, and school law. In over 20 years of practice as a civil litigator, he has gained significant jury trial experience in both federal and state courts. In addition to handling matters before trial courts, John is an experienced appellate advocate and has argued before the Indiana Supreme Court, the Indiana Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He is a member of Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana and the Indianapolis Bar Association and has served on the IBA’s Solo and Small Firm Committee’s executive committee. John earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University-Bloomington in 1996 with a double major in political science and history. He earned his law degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1999.
John lives in the Irvington neighborhood of Indianapolis with his wife and children. He is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where he has served on the Finance Commission, School Commission, and Parish Council. In his free time John enjoys cycling, running, and camping and hiking with his family.
